The Whole-Health Approach

Oral Cancer Screening
Like any cancer, oral cancer can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated early, which is why we encourage regular screenings during each check-up. Our team of experts understands how to identify common symptoms such as bleeding sores, red or white spots in the oral cavity, numbness, difficulty with any common mouth functions.

In a quick screening we use the latest technology to examine your oral cavity as a whole; we feel the tissue of your mouth and throat to detect any abnormalities. Finally, a brush test is sent to a laboratory for analysis if needed. If this test comes back atypical or positive, we may recommend a biopsy.

TMJ/TMD
Millions of Americans suffer from chronic facial and neck pain as well as recurring headaches. In some cases, this pain is due to Temporomandibular Disorder, or TMD.

Your temporomandibular joints (TMJ) connect your lower jawbone to your skull. TMD can cause you to experience:

  • Pain, clicking, or swelling in the jaw area
  • Pain, ringing, or stuffiness in the ears
  • Headaches or neck aches
  • Misalignment of top and bottom teeth
  • Locked jaw

Our TMD expert Dr. Frost will help relieve your pain and provide the education you need to keep your jaw healthy.

Laser Dentistry
Using laser dentistry, our dentist can deliver a precise treatment that is more comfortable, quick, and provides stunning results. There are two different types of laser dentistry: hard tissue and soft tissue. Hard tissue includes treatments such as cavity detection, dental fillings, and improving tooth sensitivity. Soft tissue treatments include gum reshaping, gum surgery, and improving muscle attachment.
Sedation Dentistry
We understand that going to the dentist may be stressful for some of our patients. If you’re nervous about your dental visit, let us know! We offer two modern sedation dentistry solutions to make your visit a dream:

  • Oral Sedation
  • Nitrous Oxide

These options allow nervous patients to feel more comfortable and relaxed. Your fear and anxiety will fade away, and your may even enjoy your dental visit!

"You have a 5 Star staff! Everyone performed above and beyond expectations and made this seem more like visiting a friend, than a dental appointment. I will always recommend your stellar professional service to anyone I know. Thank you!"

– Luke S. (Frost Patient Since 2012)

Prevention Is the Cure

Preventive Education
Preventive dental care is important throughout your life, regardless of your age. By practicing good oral hygiene at home, such as brushing your teeth twice a day, and scheduling a regular checkup with your dentist, you can help keep your smile bright and healthy for many years to come.

As leaders in Redmond preventive dentistry, we delight in providing dental and nutritional education to help our patients maintain a healthy smile. During your regular checkup, you are encouraged to ask any questions you have about your overall health and we will do our best to answer them.

Periodontal Care
Periodontal (gum) disease is one of the top reasons for tooth loss in adults and is caused by plaque build-up. Because it is virtually pain-free, many patients do not know they have the disease, which could cause gums to swell and bleed.

During each regular checkup, Dr. Frost will check for signs of periodontal disease by measuring the space between your teeth and gums. If present, he can treat with at-home periodontal trays or scaling and root planning (deep cleaning). Periodontal surgery and laser gum surgery is only for severe cases.

Our expert team will also provide you with education on how to prevent periodontal disease by adjusting your diet and hygiene habits.

Fluoride Therapy
Fluoride is effective in preventing cavities, tooth decay, and plaque build-up on the tooth’s surface. A fluoride treatment at Frost Family Dentistry takes just a few minutes.

After the treatment, patients may be asked not to rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes to allow the teeth to absorb the fluoride. Depending on your oral health or your doctor’s recommendation, you may be required to have a fluoride treatment every three, six, or 12 months.

Mouthguards
Mouthguards help protect your teeth and gums from injury when playing sports. If you participate in any full-contact sport, the American Dental Association recommends that you wear a mouthguard.

Choosing the right mouthguard is essential. There are three basic types of mouthguards: the pre-made mouthguard, the “boil-and-bite” fitted mouthguard, and a custom-made mouthguard from your dentist (which we offer at our office). When you chose a mouthguard, be sure to pick one that is tear-resistant, comfortable and well-fitted for your mouth, easy to keep clean, and does not prevent you from breathing properly.

Premier Family Care

We are serious about your child’s dental health and well being.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children should visit the dentist by their first birthday so that parents can receive expert dental advice for their child’s new teeth.

In our kid-friendly office, we are determined to make your child’s first visit to the dentist an enjoyable one. Our caring team makes a special effort to use pleasant, non-frightening, simple words to describe each treatment, and make getting to know your teeth fun! We want you and your child to feel at ease from the moment your family arrives at our office.

During your child’s visit, we will piece together a plan for healthy oral hygiene habits, explain how to check your child’s teeth, review the best brushing technique, and go over what constitutes a teeth-friendly diet.
